This upcoming weekend is full of good things. If you live in Denver, you will have some great opportunities to mingle. One event that you will not want to miss will be Paul Michel’s
art show at Crema. Paul is the genius behind Mountain versus Plains. Paul has been saving up some good pieces for the show and unfortunately, I have to miss it. Go for me!
This show will feature pen and ink illustrations from my very talented friend.

Saturday October 13, 2012 – 7:00pm
Crema Coffee House – 2862 Larimer Street, Denver, Colorado 80205
Here’s a little sneak peak for you.
I have discussed my love for Cavallini & Co calendars before. I have been a fan for years and one of the main reasons is that when the year is over you can still display your favorite months as prints on your wall.
I had been saving my 2011 calendar of vintage Italian tourism posters for a while and finally got around to putting a few up in the guest room. My mother is a lover of all things Italian so I knew that is where these needed to go. (Hint hint Mom!)
For months I had been on the lookout for the perfect clipboard to put them all the wall and couldn’t find any that I liked. Then I thought… hangers! IKEA has great little hangers that make displaying these prints quick and easy. I will be happy to change these out when my 2012 calendar is no longer in my office.
Currently A Denver Home Companion is doing a great giveaway from Mountain Versus Plains (both Denver locals!). The winner receives three greeting cards AND a framed print. Mountain Versus Plains is created by Paul Michel, who also did the Denver landmark series that I talked about at the Our Mutual Friend Open House. His cards are hilarious, and I recommend reading every single one.
To enter the giveaway-all you need to do is head on over to A Denver Home Companion and answer this question:
suddenly the city of denver finds itself overrun by thousands of ravenous twenty-foot tall hamsters. what do you do? where do you go?
Giveaway ends July 31st!
